This Religious temple is blessed by lord Shiva and therefore is located at a height of 3,553 metres on the riverbank of Mandakini, a stream of the Ganga. Because this is where the Pandavas are claimed to have spent their time conducting penance to Lord Shiva, it is a very important Hindu pilgrimage destination. The only way to get there is to hike uphill for 18 kilometres from Gaurikund. Because of its elevation, Kedarnath gets unusually cold weather, which can be unpredictable at times.

This is the month of the freezing cold winter, when temperatures drop below 0 degrees Fahrenheit. Tourists, trekkers, and visitors are at a minimum during this season.
Kedarnath’s summers are mild, as is expected of Himalayan environment, while the winter weather are exceedingly challenging and severe. Summer is good for sightseeing, temple visits, and exploring neighbouring attractions. In the summer, the mean temperature is about 17 °. The monsoons are challenging, and the area has seen heavy rains on numerous occasions, most notably in 2013. The temperature during the monsoon season is around 12 degrees. Winters are harsh, complicated, and uninhabitable. From November to April, Lord Kedarnath’s palki is relocated to its winter residence near Guptkashi — Ukhimath. This time of year, the weather has always been negative!
Accommodations of the highest quality
There is a large government-managed tented colony, and also cottages and guestrooms owned by. These are enough to house thousands of pilgrims and guests. Hotels, guesthouses are also offered.
Many people have begun to travel by helicopter, and so stay sites may include Phata, Rampur, Gaurikund, Sitapur, and others.
Restaurants with the best food
Unfortunately, the only options for quality cuisine here are highway dhabas and meals booths. The food available is largely of the north Indian variety. Of course, considering Kedarnath’s hallowed status in Hinduism, that’s no surprise both alcohol and non-vegetarian meals are not served/are prohibited.
